Malasia's Prime Minister's Department (JPM) has issued a communique denouncing as fake an announcement that a one-off public holiday had been declared on February 3, 2022, in the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

The aforementioned communique states that "the image titled Notification Under Subsection 9 (2) of the Holidays Act 1951 [Act 369] is not true" and adds that "The public is asked not to spread or share any uncertain or false information".

Recall that, late last year, Malaysia's Federal Territories Minister, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, had indeed declared Friday, December 3, 2021, as a one-off public holiday in the 3 Federal Territories of Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan) to mark Kuala Lumpur's Malaysia Cup victory (2021-12-01).
