The ministère des Habous et des Affaires islamiques of the government of Morocco has announced that it had succeeded in observing the crescent Moon of Shaoual and therefore that Monday, May 2, 2022, would be the date of the End of Ramadan or Aïd al-Fitr public holiday in Morocco.
The aforementioned announcement of Monday, May 2, 2022, as the date of the upcoming public holiday for the first day of the upcoming Aïd Al Fitr (End of Ramadan), is in line with the official list of 2022 non-working public holidays in Morocco, as released at the beginning of this year (2021-12-27).
Three years ago (2019-06-03), but neither last year nor the year before (2021-05-12 and 2020-05-23), the government of Morocco had extended the Aïd Al Fitr public holidays by a third day, Friday, June 7, 2019, for Government workers and the public sector of Morocco.
