Pakistan Day Extended Public Holiday In Rawalpindi

The Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner, Tahir Farooq, has declared Tuesday, March 22, 2022, as an additional public holiday in the territory of Tehsil Rawalpindi and Rawalpindi cantonments, on the occasion of the 48th session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) conference being held in Islamabad.
As per the above announcement, "The competent authority has declared Tuesday, the 22nd March 2022 as public holiday in Territory of Tehsil Rawalpindi Cantonments on the occasion of the 48th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers conference being held in Islamabad on March 23 Pakistan Day Parade in the larger public interest.".
Recall that, last week (2022-03-08), Pakistan's Interior Minister, Sheikh Rasheed, had announced that the upcoming Pakistan Day public holiday would be extended to last 3 days, from March 22 to March 24, in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital city.
Last year, Thursday, March 25, 2021, was similarly declared as a public holiday for the citizens of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on the occasion of Pakistan Day Parade (2021-03-22).
Today's and last week's declarations of extended public holidays in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, is in addition to the annual list of the expected dates for non-working 2022 Pakistani public holidays and optional holidays, as was released by the Ministry of the Interior of the Federal Government of Pakistan, late last year (2020-12-10), and recently officially confirmed (2022-02-05).
