Timor Leste Releases 2022 Presidential Election Calendar

The government of Timor Leste has released the calendar for the upcoming 2022 Presidential election in Timor-Leste, with the first round scheduled for March 19, 2022, the second round for April 19, 2022, and one or both dates expected to be declared as one-off public holidays in East Timor.
Law No.10/2005, which overhauled Timor Leste's public holidays (2005-08-12), does not specify that the dates of elections should be public holidays and, indeed, not all past presidential elections were declared a public holiday in Timor Leste (2007-02-04).
