Weekend Public Holidays: Public holidays that occur on a weekend remain on that date (ie. they are not moved to another date). • Saturday Closings: Most stores in Austria close at 13:00 (1pm) on Saturdays. • Maundy Thursday (3 days before Easter) and Good Friday are not official national public holidays, but quite a few stores do close early. Banks are closed on Good Friday. • Christmas Eve (Weihnachten) is not one of the official public holidays but banks are closed on that day, and it is celebrated in the evening.
