Informaciones Adicionales

Estos comentarios, sobre los días feriados en Nicaragua, son in Ingles. Si tiene cualquiera pregunta sobre estos comentarios, por favor contáctanos.  Governing Law: The law governing official public holidays (feriados nacionales y asuetos decretados) in Nicaragua, is the Labour Code of October 30, 1996, and in particular articles 66-67-68 and 264 as well as laws 185 and 290.  Weekend Public Holidays: Article 68 of the Labour Code states that holidays that fall on Sundays are either financially compensated, or an alternative date is given. But giving the alternate date on the following Monday is not a regular practice; these extra days tend to be added to paid vacations, or to complete the afternoon-only public holidays of May 30 and November 2.  Immaculate Conception: although the Ministry of Labour website does not include December 8 as a public holiday, it is included specifically in Article 66 of the Labour Code.  Election Public Holidays are regulated by articles 48 and 51 of the Constitución Política de Nicaragua.  Santo Domingo: the public holidays of Treida de Santo Domingo and Dejada de Santo Domingo are celebrated in the capital city of Managua only.  Municipal Public Holidays: In addition to the above national public holidays, many cities and towns throughout Nicaragua celebrate their own festival and public holidays, usually on the nameday of their patron Saint.  Mothers' Day and All Souls' Day: By tradition, and as resolved by the Ministerio del Trabajo, the afternoons of Mothers' day and of All Souls' day are half-day public holidays.  End-of-the-Year Government Closings: Although this is not an automatic yearly occurrence, in the past years, the Ministry of Labour has announced, in early December, that all non-essential government offices would be closed from the Friday night before Christmas, to the morning of the first working day after January 1.
