The Qatari government has decided to opt for a one-year experiment in a five-day week for government departments and ministries, beginning in October, 1999.
The decision was taken at a recent meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The private sector in Qatar is, as yet, undecided about whether to follow suit with a five-day working week.
