Chile has passed law 19.790, "Declara Feriado Legal y Regula los Dias de Realizacion de Censos Oficiales", which makes any future census day an official public holiday in Chile.
This law follows upon the 1988, "Ley 18.700 Organica Constitucional Sobre Votaciones Populares y Escrutinios", which made the dates of presidential and parliamentary elections an offical public holiday in Chile.
