Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has signed a decree making Tuesday, November 22, 2005, the 1st anniversary of the "Orange Revolution", a public holiday called "Day of Freedom".

Whether this will remain an annual public holiday, beyond 2005, remains to be seen. Yesterday, hundreds of leftists rallied in Kyiv decrying the proposed Day of Freedom.
