Argentina To Consider Renaming October 12 Public Holiday

(Posted on Wednesday, October 10, 2007)

Source: El Día

Argentina's anti-discrimination government agency (Instituto Nacional Contra la Discriminación, la Xenofobia y el Racismo, INADI) has presented a proposal for a decree that would rename the October 12 public holiday, commonly called "Día de la Raza", into "Día de la Diversidad Cultural Americana".

Recall that in 2002 (12-Oct-2002), Venezuela similarly changed the name of its October 12 public holiday.
