Dominican Republic Extends Presidential Election Public Holiday

The press office of the has announced decree 193-08 which extends the usual May 16 presidential election public holiday by a half-day. The afternoon of Thursday, May 15 will therefore be a public holiday, as well as Friday the 16th.

Currently, Presidential elections are held every 4 years, on May 16, and that date is an official public holiday in the Dominican Republic.
