The government of Afghanistan has declared Thursday, November 19, 2009, as a one-off public holiday to coincide with the date of the inauguration of President Hamid Karzai for a second, five-year, term of office.
As part of the security measures, the city's international airport will close, and there will be no air movements in or out of Kabul, except for night flights taking Muslim pilgrims to Mecca.
Recall that the day of President Karzai's first inauguration, on Tuesday, December 7, 2004, was also declared a one-off public holiday (06-Dec-2004).
