The government of Antigua and Barbuda has released an official announcement to the effect that "the General Public is hereby notified that Monday, December 28, 2009, is not a public holiday".
The announcement goes on to point out that, as per the "Public Holidays (Amendment) Act, 2005 (No. 8 of 2005)" (15-Sep-2005), the following Monday is a day in lieu public holiday, only when Christmas Day falls on a Saturday or a Sunday.
The aforementioned clarification seems to have been deemed necessary, following the recent release of the official list of 2010 public holidays in Antigua and Barbuda (29-Nov-2009), which specifies that, in 2010, "27th December will be celebrated as a Public Holiday", without making it clear that this refers to December 25th falling on a weekend, rather than December 26.
