Western Australia State Premier, Colin Barnett, is reported to be considering a review of Western Australia's Foundation Day public holiday.
One of the suggestions mentioned is the renaming of the foundation Day public holiday to "Western Australia Day".
Coincidentally, last week, Australia's New South Wales Industrial Relations Minister, John Hatzistergos, announced a review into public holidays that fall on a weekend (31-May-2009).
