A spokesman for Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Intigam Humbatov, has announced that the Novruz public holiday has been included into the UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
UNESCO-related public holidays were declared in the past in Bangladesh (21-Feb-2007) and Malaysia (07-Jul-2009) and are under consideration in Kyrgyzstan (01-Jul-2009).
