Earlier tonight, at a meeting of the National Moon-Sighting Committee, chaired by Bangladesh's state minister for religious affairs, Mohammed Shahjahan Miah, it was announced that the Moon of Shawwal had been sighted, confirming that tomorrow will be the Eid-ul-Fitr in Bangladesh.
Earlier this week (16-Sep-2009), the Bangladesh government announced that if the Moon's crescent was not visible on Sunday night, September 20, 2009, then the previously announced (12-Jan-2009) public holidays dates of September 20-22, would be extended for a fourth day, Wednesday, September 23, 2009, as the financial sector had announced the day before (15-Sep-2009).
