Many Brazilian States have decided to observe the annual, Dia do Servidor Público, public sector holiday on Friday, October 30, 2009, rather than the previously announced date of Monday, October 26, 2009.
The Dia do Servidor Público (Civil Servants' Day) is in theory on the fixed date of October 28, but it is regularly moved to adjoin a nearby weekend, as was done in 2007 (26-Oct-2007), 2008 (28-Dec-2007), and 2009 (12-Nov-2008).
