In its last weekly meeting, earlier today, the Bulgarian Cabinet declared 2 additional non-working public holidays for next year; the first on Friday, May 7, and the second on Friday, December 31st, 2010.
As is customary, (10-Sep-2009 and 19-Feb-2009), these 2 additional non-working public holidays will be compensated by the declaration of the same number of working Saturdays.
The May 7 public holiday, which creates a 4-day public holidays, will be compensated by a working day on Saturday, May 15, 2010, while the December 31 public holiday will be compensated by a working day on Saturday, December 11, 2010.
At the same meeting, the Cabinet also approved a draft bill amending the Bulgarian Labour Code, and which would make Good Friday an annual non-working public holiday.
