The Cayman Islands' Governor-in-Cabinet amended the Schedule to the Law on holidays, yesterday, thus officially making Monday, December 28, 2009, this year's public holiday associated with Boxing Day.
As per the wording in the Public Holidays Law (2007 Revision) schedule, and today's "Public Holidays (No. 2) Order, 2009" (Gazette Extraordinary No. 90/2009), a statement by the governor points out that Saturday, December 26, 2009, will be a regular shopping day in the Cayman Islands.
