The government of the Dominican Republic has released a confirmation of the 4 public holidays that will occur in January 2010, including 2 that will be moved from their traditional observance date in 2010.
The government of the Dominican Republic seems to have felt that a confirmation was needed that the January 6, Día de Reyes, and the January 26, Día de Duarte, would be moved to adjoin the nearest weekend, due to the recent headlines (22-Nov-2009) about a draft bill that would stop the practice of observing public holidays on dates that differ from their historical one (19-Jun-1997).
