The Minister of Culture of Germany's "Land" of Bavaria, Ludwig Spaenle, has said he would press for the restoration of the Buß- und Bettag public holiday in Bavaria for next year.
Similar calls are regularly made by leading Bavarian politicians at the end of November (27-Nov-2007).
The Buß- und Bettag public holiday was canceled in 1994, except in Sachsen, and in Bavaria, only schools have the day off.
