Ghana's Minister of the Interior, Cletus Avoka, has released a statement confirming that Wednesday, July 1st, 2009, is Republic Day, a statutory public holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.
This type of official re-confirmation of gazetted public holidays is a regular feature of public holidays in Ghana (21-May-2009).
