The "Council for Democracy and Development" government of Guinea Conakry has declared Wednesday, December 23, 2009, as a one-off public holiday to commemorate the 1st anniversary of its arrival in power.
The current military government came to power in December 2008, following the death of President Lansana Conte (24-Dec-2008) which led to 2, one-off, public holidays, one on the date of his funeral (25-Dec-2008) and a subsequent one 40 days after his death (05-Feb-2009).
