Earlier today, Equatorial Guinea's President, Teodoro Obiang Nguema, declared three days of national mourning for Gabon's late president Omar Bongo Ondimba.
The decree states that, from Friday, June 12, until Sunday, June 14, 2009, "all national flags will fly at half-mast on public buildings and the vessels of the national armed forces and state security services".
Note that Benin also declared a period of mourning (10-Jun-2009) and that next Tuesday will be a public holiday in the Gabon on the occasion of President Bongo's funeral (11-Jun-2009).
