India's Punjab Declares June 12 Public Holiday

The Government of India's State of Punjab has declared Friday, June 12, 2009, as a paid public holiday in the Nurmahal Assembly Constituency to enable the voters to cast their votes.

As per the communique, this applies as a paid day for all persons employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking or any other establishment, and as a public holiday, in all Punjab Government Offices, Corporations/Boards and all Educational Institutions.
