The Government of India's State of Punjab has declared Friday, August 28, 2009, as gazetted public holiday for the birth anniversary of Baba Sri Chand Ji, instead of Wednesday, September 9, 2009, as had been announced earlier.
In related regional Indian news, the Puducherry Administration declared a public holiday for Wednesday, September 2, 2009, for the Union Territory on account of Onam, Kerala's havest festival.
