The Lieutenant-Governor of India's Delhi Capital State, Tejendra Khanna, has approved a full state public holiday for Thursday, October 14, 2010, on the occasion of the Closing Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games.
Last summer (28-Jul-2009), India's Organising Committee for the Commonwealth Games 2010, and the Delhi government had decided that the day of the Closing Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games would be declared a holiday, at least for colleges, universities and schools.
Today's announcement now makes this date a full state public holiday for both the private and public sectors.
