The Iraqi Cabinet has approved plans to hold a July 30 national referendum on the country's security agreement with the United States.
The security agreement was signed last January 1st, a date which was to henceforth be a public holiday called "Sovereignty Day" (02-Jan-2009).
The date of the referendum, yet to be approved by the Iraqi Parliament, would probably be declared a public holiday, based on previous elections and referenda (24-Jan-2009, 10-Dec-2005, and 02-Oct-2005).
