Kenya's Head of the Public Service, and secretary to the Cabinet, Francis K. Muthaura, has announced that the upcoming Idd-Ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holiday would be observed, in Kenya, on Monday, September 21, 2009.
The announcement was made in a Kenya Government Gazette Notice No 9625, dated from September 8th, but published earlier today.
Recall that the subsequent Eid Muslim holiday, the Eid al-Adha (aka. Id-ul-Hajj, or Feast of Sacrifice) will not be an official public holiday, as per a government announcement of last year (04-Dec-2008), despite having been declared a public holiday in 2007 (14-Dec-2007).
