We have received unconfirmed reports that Kuwait had declared a day in lieu public holiday on Sunday, December 20, 2009, in conjunction with the Islamic new year 1431.
It is not yet clear if this report is related to last year's clarification (26-Mar-2008) by Kuwait's Civil Service Commission of Kuwait (CSC) concerning which mid-week public holidays remain on their set date, and which public holidays move to the adjoining weekend.
