Yesterday afternoon, Lebanon's Prime Minister, Rafic Hariri, issued an order declaring a one-off public sector holiday and calling for the closure of all public institutions on Monday, November 23, 2009.
Though the terse communique did not go into details it did mention that this one-off public sector holiday was declared on the occasion of independence day, whose official date falls on Sunday, November 22, this year.
