Liberia's President, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has issued a proclamation declaring Monday, September 21st, 2009, as the International Day of Peace.
The International Day of Peace is to be observed throughout the 15 political sub-divisions of the Republic of Liberia as a working holiday.
On September 7th, 2001, the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted Resolution 55/282 designating the annual International Day of Peace to be observed on September 21st.
