According to an announcement on state radio and TVM, Malawi's government has declared Monday, September 21, 2009 as a statutory public holiday, to celebrate the Muslim festival of Eid-ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan).
We expect the the MAM (Muslim Association of Malawi) to use this occasion to renew its calls for the declaration of the Eid-ul-Qurban and the day for the birth of their Prophet Muhammad, as official public holidays (07-Jul-2007).
