Mexico's Health Secretary, José Angel Córdova Villalobos, announced that nonessential federal government offices would be closed from May 1-5, and that all nonessential private businesses must also close for that period.

This announcement follows yesterday's announcement that all educational institutions, nationwide, would be closed until May 6 (29-Apr-2009).
