The State Bank of Pakistan has announced that the date of the first of Ramadan (Ramazan) bank holiday had been changed from the date announced at the end of last year by the Electronic Government Directorate, Ministry of IT & Telecom, Government of Pakistan.
The date announced at the end of last year (31-Dec-2008) was that of Friday, August 21, 2009, but in a communique of this morning, the State Bank of Pakistan announced that the bank holiday would be either Saturday, August 22, if the first of Ramadan is declared to be that date, on on Monday, August 24, if the first of Ramadan is declared to be Sunday, August 23, 2009 (the latest possible date).
