Earlier today, Pakistan's Ministry of Interior, in consultation with Karachi's Meteorological Department, issued the expected dates for public and optional holidays for the calendar year 2010.
One noteworthy point in the aforementioned announcement is the reduction of the Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) Muslim public holiday from 4 days this year (20-Nov-2009 and 31-Dec-2008) to the 2-day public holidays that was the norm before 2008 (16-Dec-2006).
Finally, as usual, the announced dates for Muslim public holidays are subject to revision (16-Sep-2009 and 20-Aug-2009).
