At this morning's press conference, Palau's President, Johnson Toribiong, announced that he would be moving the upcoming United Nations' Day national public holiday from its usual date of October 24th to Friday, October 2nd, 2009.
This year's United Nations' Day public holiday had already been moved from its official date of Saturday, October 24, and gazetted as Friday, October 23, 2009, earlier this year.
This new change, combined with the October 1st, Independence Day, public holiday, will give 4 consecutive days of public holidays to Palau, as well as allow more people to attend the Olchotel Belau Fair which, this year, will take place on October 2.
