The Government of Papua New Guinea (PNG) has released the gazetted official public holidays for 2010.
The list was signed on September 14, 2009, by Governor-General, Grand Chief Sir Paulias Matane, and entered into the G178 issue of Papua New Guinea's National Gazette.
The aforementioned announcement of official Papua New Guinea public holidays for the calendar year 2010, published in the National Gazette dated September 17th, 2009 (No. G178), confirms the date of the 2010 Queen's Birthday public holiday, and as usual (13-Oct-2006, 07-Jul-2003 and 15-Aug-2000) announces day in lieu public holidays, if applicable.
The Remembrance Day public holiday was moved from July 23 to April 25, 5 years ago (20-Sep-2004), is again on July 23, as was the case for the last 4 years (17-Oct-2008, 09-Jul-2007, 13-Oct-2006 and 01-Oct-2005). This change deems destined to be permanent, although the earlier change to April 25 had also been specified as permanent when it was announced.
