Paraguay's president, Fernando Lugo, has signed Decreto Presidencial Nº 3.693, which declares public sector holidays for the afternoon of Thursday, December 24, and Thursday, December 31, 2009, starting at 11:00.
The declaration of half-day public sector holidays is relatively frequent in Paraguay (07-Dec-2009, 09-Sep-2009, and 06-Apr-2009).
In related news, the Banco Central del Paraguay (Central Bank of Paraguay) confirmed that, as per tradition, December 31, 2009, would be a bank holiday in Paraguay.
