The governor of Peru's Province of San Román, Martha Mamani Miranda, has declared Thursday, September 24, 2009, as a local public holiday in Juliaca for both the public and private sector on the occasion of the Virgen de la Mercedes.
The governor further added that she planned to declare September 24th a local public holiday every year to come.
