Russia has declared Monday, September 21, 2009, a public holiday for the End of Ramadan Muslim festival of Ramazan Bayram in the regions of Adygeya, Bashkortostan, Chechnya, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, and Karachay-Cherkessia.
The actual date of Ramazan Bayram is actually Sunday, September 20, 2009, but the message of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection states that as the non-working public holiday coincides with the weekly day of rest, the day off is to be postponed to Monday.
