Senior Coordinator for CHOGM 2009, Sharifa Ali Abdullah, announced that a decision has been taken to change the name of the CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) to be hosted in Port of Spain in November, to "Summit of the Commonwealth".
As we surmised after the 2005 CHOGM summit in Valletta, we expect the first day of the upcoming CHOGM, Friday, November 27, 2009, to be declared a one-off public holiday in Trinidad and Tobago (29-Nov-2005 and 04-Jan-2009), as was the case earlier this month for the Fifth Summit of the Americas (07-Apr-2009).
