The government of the Ukraine has declared the first day of Eid al-Adha, which this year falls on November 27, a non-business day (aka. public holiday), for Crimean Muslims.
This announcement, which follows last year's vote in the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (24-Nov-2008), though similar to that related to the recent End of Ramadan public holiday (18-Sep-2009), only applies to Muslims living in Crimea, while the End of Ramadan public holiday was a general non-working public holiday for the entire population.
