The Central Bank of Bangladesh has issued the DOS Circular Letter No. 05: Amendment to the list of Holidays in 2010 for Banks, which lists a revised date of September 2, 2010, for the Janmashtami public holiday.
Recall that at the time of the initial announcement of 2010 public holidays in Bangladesh (23-Nov-2009), we had alerted readers to the fact that the initial press release contained an error for the Janmashtami public holiday (it would appear that the 2009 date for Janmashtami was re-used by mistake).
Interestingly, the new date announced for the 2010 Janmashtami public holiday corresponds to the Vaishnava calculation, used until 2008, but which was eschewed for the 2009 public holidays in favor of the Smarta date of Janmashtami (12-Jan-2009).
