At a meeting of the Bangladesh National Moon Sighting Committee, chaired by the State Minister for Religious Affairs, Shahjahan Mian, it was decided that the upcoming month of Ramadan in Bangladesh would begin tomorrow, Thursday, August 12, 2010.
At that same meeting, it was decided that the upcoming Shab-e-Qadr would be observed on the night of Monday, September 6, 2010, thus confirming the previously announced date of the Shab-e-Qadr public holiday (23-Nov-2009).
