The Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad, responsible for the celebrations of the Bangladeshi Hindu community, has urged the government of Bangladesh to bring forward the scheduled date for the upcoming Janmashtami public holiday to September 1, 2010.
Note that the date of the upcoming Janmashtami public holiday was originally announced (23-Nov-2009) by the government of Bangladesh as August 15, and this was later changed (25-May-2010) to September 2, 2010.
