The government of Barbados has issued a statement specifying that the upcoming Emancipation Day public holiday would be observed on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, while the annual Kadooment Day public holiday will be celebrated on Monday, August 2, 2010.
This announcement which confirms the usual day in lieu rules for sequential public holidays that fall on a weekend, such as occurs in early August and around Christmas, was included in last year's announcement of the 2010 official public holidays in Barbados (16-Apr-2009) and this year's announcement of the 2011 official public holidays in Barbados (12-Feb-2010).
