The Federal Government of Brazil, through its Ministério do Planejamento, announced the official list of 2011 Brazilian public holidays in yesterday's Diário Oficial da União (Seção 1 - página 131 - 02 de dezembro de 2010).
This list, contained in the "Portaria Nº 735, De 1º De Dezembro De 2010", based on the "Nota Técnica nº 1013/CGNOR/ DENOP/SRH/MP", confirms the dates of the Easter-related public holidays and otherwise confirms the dates of fixed-date public holidays.
As October 28, 2011, falls on a Friday, the Dia do Servidor Público (Civil Servants' Day), officially set on the fixed date of October 28, will not be moved in 2011, as it was in 2008, 2009 and 2010 (28-Dec-2007, 12-Nov-2008 and 10-Nov-2009).
The aforementioned announcement makes no mention of the bill that would make November 20, the "Dia Nacional de Zumbi e da Consciência Negra", a new public holiday in Brazil (14-Sep-2010).
