The government of India's State of Bihar has announced a new public holiday, Bihar Day (Bihar Divas), to be celebrated on March 22, annually.
Bihar Day celebration has been promoted by Bihar State chief minister, Nitish Kumar, who wants Biharipan (Biharism) to replace the sentiment of casteism, by celebrating the date when the state was separated from Orissa in 1912.
