The Iranian Cabinet of Ministers has decided to announce Sunday and Monday, July 11-12, 2010, as non-working public holidays for state agencies in Tehran and 19 provinces of the country due to the abnormal hot weather.
As per the ILNA media report, provincial governors in other provinces may decide to also declare these 2 days as non-working public holidays.
Weather-related public holidays are common in Iran, be it for excessively cold weather (06-Jan-2008) or pollution (07-Jul-2009 and 06-Jul-2009).
